Limits on sending outgoing mail

In order to reduce misuse or monopolisation of server resources, and/or spamming activities, outgoing email via SMTP from domains/accounts on the UKTNET servers is limited to 350 per hour, or 2,500 emails in any 24 hour period.

Can I request a higher limit?

Yes, we can raise the limitation for individual accounts, please do the following.

  1. Submit an email to support@uktnet.co.uk requesting a raised email sending limit
  2. Please state the domain and associated email address your newsletters will be distributed from.
  3. Please state what software, or application that will be used to distribute the email.
  4. Please state the approximate size of your email list, and how frequently it will be used to distribute email.
  5. Include a statement in your email to say that the distribution list only contains verified email addresses collected by you, and not a commercially bought list.
  6. Also state that you will ensure that your email distribution list is regularly maintained and cleaned of non-existent or unsubscribed users.
After we receive your submission we will review your raised threshold request, and if we agree to it, a charge of £20 will be levied towards the work needed to modify the mailserver records accordingly. You will also be charged a refundable deposit of £80 which will be used to defray removal costs if your server IP becomes blacklisted on Real Time Blacklists as a result of suspected or reported email spamming from the domain mentioned in item 2. above, and we need to get it removed.
